I have not been in the mood to blog, to be far I have not been in the mood to do anything.
The black dog has been sniffing around again, I like dogs but this is one I really don't want visiting.
So what been going on in my life since the last posting. Well the Olympic torch came to town, and I was out with St John for it.
My step daughter moved in with her boyfriend, he lives in the Birkenhead area. So seeing her child being born is slim.
Went to Cosford air show with my Dad. I may have to write a post about that day out.
A day out with the Brother in law and his partner to Park Hall Farm, as she and her kids live in a city.
Oh yes and Race for life.

run on fuel.
Do you remember a few weeks ago the panic buying of fuel. Well it happened in town, diesel dried up fast. and the queues where stopping normal traffic flow
My minibus was getting low on fuel. There was only one thing to do, use the Fuel Contingency Plan.
Now I am not going to tell you much about it, Just that I ended up queuing for the fuel there too.
Oh well at least there was only one waiting in front of me.
Till next time Dear Reader, Stay Safe.
I was not even trying to get fuel at this point, but was stuck in the traffic jam for 20 mins. As I finally got passed the fuel station, I see a sign saying no diesel.
That was great, no blockage, no tanker driver strike. Just the talk of they maybe a strike, after 7 day notice. and there is panic buying on fuel. It did not help that a minister said to stock some fuel at home in a 20 litre jerry can, which is wrong. you can only store 10 litres per container.
After the second day, and pleas from the media and ministers to not panic buy, the diesel running out again!
Now I am not going to tell you much about it, Just that I ended up queuing for the fuel there too.
Oh well at least there was only one waiting in front of me.

I been so long
Hi all
Sorry it been a bit since I last posted, but its been a bit mad at times. my computer failed, which did not help with blogging.
Both my dad and father in law are out of hospital. My dad had a massive chest infection, which has now cleared up and he has really cut down on the smoking.
The father in law is much better, but still has mobility problems. It could be much worse if it was not for the stroke being witnessed by someone who knew the signs, and got medical help as soon as possable.
The F.A.S.T test is a good indicator of a stroke.
Also since the last time I posted, I gained another year. and here is a weird fact for you all. I got more happy birthdays from Radio Shropshire staff then I got from staff at work.
There has been some other stuff going on in my life that I don't share with the internet. maybe one day, I will blog about it
Anyway on that note, I shall leave you will an escapee of Dave's bad joke emporium 'bloke goes to the doctors, "Doctor, I feel like a wigwam and a tepee" The Doctor replies "your too tense"

Renal sub station? what a name.
It been a busy week, even when I had the last 3 days off work.
My dad has not been well, ending up with me getting a phone call on my first day off. as I returned from getting equipment checked in Shrewsbury. He was being taken into hospital by ambulance. A bit weird really, some may even call it ironic, As I was sitting in the drivers seat of a ambulance stopped in a layby to take the call.
They were not letting him have visitors the first night he was in, as they were busy trying to get his oxygen levels back up and his blood sugar levels down. he a diabetic you see.
So I went visiting the father in law, with the Shell. He had a CVA, a stroke for the less medically minded in front of me 5 weeks before. He is getting better, and getting movement back, he is going to need care. but he did before, just ask his wife.
We got to visit my Dad on Thursday, he was still having breathing problems and having aggressive moods, as his blood sugar was still high, and at one point I had to talk to him like a naughty 5 year old. But having met many diabetics over my volunteering i am used to it.
Friday was the day we attacked my dads bedroom, as my mum is not in the best of health. clothes everywhere, tablet boxes everywhere, bed half way cross the room.
Its not like my dad is a messy bloke, It was the state he was in, trying to find clothes, then falling a couple of times, knocking clothes and medication flying. moving the bed in the process.
After that we visited dad again, he was more chilled than yesterday but was still confused. On the way back to the landrover, I spotted a electrical sub station call Renal.
Now this got my weird mind going, what if there were others with names for other body systems. would the one named cardiac, be rhythmicly pulsating with a swooshing heart beat sound. or does the gastrointestinal one, let of gas with a farting noise every so often?
And on that note, I will say

Cold weather and flat ardvarks
Hi all.
It is cold, very cold. and I have to do bus checks, below is a photo of me checking one in -4C
And before anyone says anything, the vehicles had been de-iced and used before I took the photo. also I'm not fat, that bulk is a polo shirt, a sweater, a fleece and a jacket. Told you it was cold!!
Oh yes, just to prove I have a weird mind, during a game on radio Shropshire Drive time slot, called schools out. where two young kids explain an object and we got to guess what it is, so I guessed "cartoon ardvarks that have been run over by a road roller" It was not right but gave Vicki and Ryan a good laugh.
They also asked for Charles Dickens type names so I suggested Vicki Archer could be Victoria Audipenny, or Audio Penny as she does voice work. voice = audio and work = money = pennies. See I do have some logic going on up there. :D

Race for Life - The start of 2012 prep
Hi all
As you can tell from the title, we are thinking about this years Race for Life. you may be wondering why we are thinking about the event in June now.
As you can tell from the title, we are thinking about this years Race for Life. you may be wondering why we are thinking about the event in June now.
Jane Bullock, Regional Press Manager for Cancer Research contacted us over using the Story of Kim's illness in a press release to promote Race for Life.
We are really happy to help, It may be a sad ending for us. But if our story helps get some more people raising money for Cancer Research to carry on it's research into treatments, may be we can help spare another family the pain we had losing Kim.
I will post up a link or two showing the press release, when it appears in press.
There is one Question I have for all you ladies reading this
Race for Life, are you going to be part of it?

Dave's Bad Joke Emporium
I enjoy bad jokes. Even tell them, making the badness of the joke, the joke itself. and that is where Dave's Bad Joke Emporium came from.
I sent one into Clare Ashford on the BBC Radio Shropshire breakfast show. They were talking about Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) being visible in North Yorkshire. The joke was
"I went to Iceland the other day. I could not see the Northern Lights, all I could see was frozen food :D"
Right have you all finished groaning about how bad it is, good. I shall continue.
The reply from Clare was, "Dave, seriously, have a word with yourself, go outside and have a word with yourself"
I would of, but I was travelling at 50 mph and I don't think the people with me would of liked the driver jumping from the vehicle. hehe.
Anyway, like they said later in the show. I was keeping up Bad Joke Quoter as the other presenter Eric Smith (usual bad joke teller for show) is on Holiday.
So sometime, they will be an escapee of the emporium on here, but don't worry, you may be warned.
